Dr. ASHOK GANGASANDRA
INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGIST / FOUNDER
Dr. Ashok Gangasandra is the founder and directing cardiologist at East Coast Cardiology. From a young age he has seen it a privilege to serve others; a belief which inspired him to pursue this profession. Graduating medical school in India, Ashok then journeyed to the United Kingdom to work alongside leading specialists to begin his physician training after which he pursued training in Sydney’s renowned Westmead Hospital.
Following this, Ashok completed specialisation in interventional cardiology at McMaster University, Canada. Dr. Ashok brings East Coast Cardiology the experience of the world and it is his vision to offer each and every one of his patients personalised care. In founding East Coast Cardiology, it is Dr. Ashok’s goal to ensure Australians are receiving the best care the world has to offer.
KARL MULCAHY
CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER
Karl Mulcahy is an Exercise Science graduate of Griffith University who also holds a graduate diploma of Cardiac Ultrasound, obtained at the Queensland University of Technology. He is a registered Cardiac Sonographer under the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) . Karl has over 20 years of experience specialising in Clinical Cardiac Ultrasound and testing, with a special interest in Transthoracic and Stress Echocardiograms. Karl completed his training at Greenslopes Private Hospital before expanding his experience working at leading hospitals within the United Kingdom.
Karl has worked as a Senior Cardiac Physiologist at Private Gold Coast Hospitals for more than 10 years. He is currently the lead Cardiac Physiologist at East Coast Cardiology and also continues to provides education guidance with academic sessions at QUT working with student Cardiac Sonographers. Karl is passionate about health and fitness, namely running, surfing and surf lifesaving. He is community minded, caring toward his patients and very committed to promoting the benefits of this lifestyle that aims to create Healthy Hearts!
DEBBIE HUMPHREYS
ECG / CARDIAC TECHNICIAN
Debbie Humphreys is an accredited exercise physiologist who has been working with cardiac and respiratory patients for over 20 years within an assortment of private hospitals and specialist healthcare clinics. She possesses a keen interest in the structure and function of the heart, particularly its electrical activity and is committed to providing the most compassionate, considerate care.
Debbie has worked at East Coast Cardiology for several years as a Cardiac Technician, having a wide array of responsibilities. Her primary role is performing resting ECGs as a diagnostic scan prior to patient consultations. She also performs and reports on 24-hour Holter monitors, 24-hour blood pressure monitors and stress tests.
Dr. SIREESHA PATHIKONDA
PRACTICE MANAGER
Dr.Sireesha Pathikonda. BDS, MBA(Fin) is a dentist with over 12 years of experience in general dentistry. She provides patient care at her private suites as well as at Queensland Health on the Gold Coast. Sireesha holds an MBA in Finance and has a wealth of experience in administrative roles in the public sector. She works as a senior dental officer in Queensland health, mentors Griffith university dental students, renders treatment for special needs patients under General Anaesthesia and currently practicing general dentistry in the community adult services.
Sireesha has served as the practice manager for East Coast Cardiology for over 5 years. Her responsibilities are diverse ranging from patient care, ensuring practice compliance with regulations and policies, employee recruitment, budget planning, HR responsibilities, WHS compliance. She oversees all the administrative and business operations of East Coast Cardiology. Sireesha is passionate about her multiple roles and enjoys collaboration, striving to uphold the mission, vision and values of East Coast Cardiology.
